    Dr. Weiping (Oliver) Zhu

Weiping Zhu is currently an associate professor of the International School of Software at Wuhan University. He received the BSc degree from Chongqing University, China, in 2003, the MPhil degree from Shanghai Jiao-Tong University, China, in 2006, and the PhD degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 2013, all in computer science. Before current position, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow for Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a technical officer for The University of Hong Kong. He also visited IRISA-INRIA, France, from Nov. 2011 to May. 2012. His research interest includes RFID, WSN, distributed computing, and cloud computing.

He has published several high-quality papers in the top international journals and conferences including the TMC, TPDS, TC and INFOCOM. He got the best paper award at the CCBD2014 and best paper candidate at the CCBD2015. He has hosted or participated in sixteen projects funded by China mainland, Hong Kong SAR and European countries.

Dr. Zhu has served as a guest reviewer of international journals and conferences including the TPDS, TC, TMC, JPDC, PPNA, PMC, IEEE Network, Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks, KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems,Mobile Networks and Applications,INFOCOM, RTSS, etc. He is a TPC member of MobiSPC 2014, IEEE TENSYMP 2015, TENSYMP 2015,UIC/ATC 2015, Smartcomp2016 NCSC 2017, and UIC 2018.

He is named “Outstanding Young Academic Talents” of Wuhan University in 2014 and “LUOJIA Young Distinguished Scholar” in 2015. He is a member of the special technical committee of Service Computing, China Computer Federation, a member of ACM, a member of IEEE, and a member of China Computer Federation. Dr. Zhu participated the third Heidelberg Laureate Forum (3rd HLF) in 2015.
